ANTOINE FEVAL WINNER – Just For Laughs BEST COMEDY Award – Montreal Fringe 2009 Written and performed by British stand up comedian Chris Gibbs, this one man comic tour-de-force introduces us to Barnaby Gibbs - a kind-hearted but thoroughly dim-witted and clueless young Englishman who inadvertently becomes the Dr. Watson-like sidekick to brilliant detective Antoine Feval, not realizing that his new partner is actually the master thief who’s been robbing the city blind. Good guy Barnaby eagerly recounts his adventures in a story full of twists, turns, and gadzooks moments! Antoine Feval premiered at the 2005 Winnipeg Fringe Festival. It sold out every performance and was a Best of the Fest winner. It was held over at the Edmonton Fringe, and then went on to sell out at the 2006 Toronto Fringe. More recently the show was performed in New Zealand, New Mexico and Massachusetts. Chris Gibbs is a writer, stand-up comedian and actor based in Toronto. His other one-man shows include ‘Gibberish’ and ‘The Power of Ignorance’. He’s also the co-author of ‘The Power of Ignorance: 14 Steps To Using Your Ignorance’ self-help book.
“One of the most cleverly written and performed shows I've ever seen at the Fringe.” “A story worthy of a funnier Arthur Conan Doyle, full of twists, turns, and gadzooks moments.” “Absolutely priceless… Sherlockians will be in heaven. Everyone else will be here, laughing hard.”
